A Christmas Carol, Virtually!

adapted by Jamie Lakritz

This Christmas comes a story like no other.

A Christmas Carol, Virtually!

You can watch our Christmas show on Youtube now. This will be available until the end of the year!

We might not be able to perform on our usual stage, but we're not letting that stop us from putting on a show.

Brightlight Theatre is proud, and just a little bit excited, to present our first ever virtual production - a brand new adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Look at us, moving with the times!

So what's it all about then?

When a drama group has to change their plans at short notice and move their production of the Christmas classic to an online performance, the cast start to panic. But director Gerry is confident they can pull it off. A few subtle changes here and there and surely no one will notice. After all, how hard can it be to create Fezziwig's huge warehouse on the internet? And ghosts?

Quite hard apparently, as Scrooge is about to find out. With 16 actors, 36 characters and not much going to plan, will the ghosts convince Scrooge to change his miserly ways and embrace Christmas?

We're not sure - but we can't wait to find out!

How will it work?

A Christmas Carol, Virtually! will be available to watch on YouTube from December 16th until the end of the year. We'll post the link on our website, and if you like, you can register your interest by replying to this email - we'll make sure the link is emailed to you as soon as it's available.

We've recorded the performance, so you can watch it whenever you like. There's no charge, though if you enjoy it and would like to, you'll be able to make a donation online to support our efforts.

We're looking forward to seeing you in person again, but until then we hope this brings a little Christmas cheer.
